THIS IS A PAYPAL ONLY AUCTION…  USPS last year tweaked their shipping rates. My rates reflect theirs, and I still choose to offer their quick shipping along with their prompt and attentive claims service for insured items. So, Flat rate shipping and handling for this will be $35 only to zips 0-5…(zips beginning 6 or 7 add $12=$47 or 8 or 9 or North Dakota add $21 =$56)to the contiguous 48 states to be paid by winning bidder. That is USPS Priority, 2-3 days, insured.  Hawaii and Alaska add $25 more (=$60). Canada add $35 (=$70), shipped Priority Express International, USPS, 3-5 days, insured. UK add $70 (=$105), Australia add $90 (=$125), shipped Priority Express International, USPS, 3-5 days, insured. Delivery times are guesstimates provided by USPS, and not guaranteed by them or me. Insurance is included.  No returns please.

INTERNATIONAL BUYERS – Please Note:

**Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer’s responsibility.

**Please check with your country’s customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying.

**These charges are normally collected by the delivering freight (shipping) company or when you pick the item up – do not confuse them for additional shipping charges.

**We DO NOT NOR WILL NOT mark merchandise values below value or mark items as ‘gifts’ – US and International government regulations prohibit such behavior.

Winning bidder to PAYPAL me (PAY IN FULL) within 48 hours of auction close, or I might think and do bad things. Less than 10 positive feedbacks email me before bidding or I hold option to cancel your bid. Terrible how such a few make it bad for so many others who are otherwise honest and decent.

NOW… THE NECESSITIES DONE… LET’S GET THIS AUCTION GOING…

This item is a Takamine G340SC Acoustic Guitar. (From first paragraph…  shipping and handling noted for this by Ebay is $35, which only applies to zip codes beginning 0-5) (zips beginning  6 or 7 add $12=$47 or 8 or 9 or North Dakota add $21 =$56)) I am trying something a little different with my reclaim listings now. Although I love a great auction, I am going to let this go…  OPENING BID TAKES IT! That’s right! READ ON.  It was purchased on Ebay ‘as is’ with what was described as ‘Finish cracks in the front’.  Yep. Sure were. No flex. Nothing inside. Along grain lines. Solid top. A beauty too. Anyway, I super glued the cracks to prevent further creeping, and then shot the face with two coats of satin lacquer. It freshened up well. The cracks can still be seen and felt, but they have been properly dealt with and this guitar is ready to go.

I installed a set of GinHo Chrome sealed tuners.. Japanese Grovers… nice machines. I used the original head nut, saddle and string pins. I strung with a new set of Martin SP/PB light 12’s, and it tuned easily and held well.

Takamine needs no boasting for any that are familiar with the brand. Great piece here. Takamine sound and playability and good looks. Complete package. Solid Sitka Spruce top, Sapele back and sides. Rosewood fret board and bridge. Nice appointments in Abalone shell on the board and rosette.

Impressive sound.  Huge thunder bottom. Precise and distinct clarity on the treble side. The mids hold their own, and combine for a beautiful chorus with no muddiness.  Sustain is excellent to fade. All six strings speak clearly across the board. The string action is low and light with no buzz up the scale.  ‘Right Now’ response.  Bold projection.  Excellent volume with effortless strumming or picking.        Very nice guitar. There are some swishes and swirls on the back and sides but not too bad. Didn’t find any glaring dinks or clinks, but there may be one in hiding. Not obvious though. What a great instrument this is. If you don’t mind a cosmetic issue, and are more into sound and playability, this might be the one to fit your playing style.

OPENING BID TAKES IT!  And if you open the bid at what I set it at, I’ll stop auction and sell to the then highest bidder. This is all legal and square with Ebay. Won’t be breaking any of their rules doing so. Just trying to move these out a little more quickly. They are taking hooks my customs need to hang on now. So, I’ll keep a good eye out, checking often for an opening bid, but the possibility exists someone else will be reading this too, and want to overbid the opening before I can end it. Can’t help that, but that is what I am going to try. This guitar will be a great buy for someone. I offer this guitar for your consideration.

I have been repairing and reclaiming guitars for many years now. Not a business and not for profit (ask my wife), but just a much enjoyed hobby. I have my own shop in my basement, and do all work, including refinishing, myself. I have no formal luthier training. I have read and studied much, but the bulk of my knowledge and skill came from the school of hard knocks. My decisions regarding methods of repair may not be those of the masters, but my repairs are done after careful analysis of the problem, and considering the easiest and most secure and stable way to return the instrument to playability. I like to reclaim higher end guitars, either acoustic or electric, but am drawn to reclaim any instrument that otherwise might be discarded. My goal is to offer quality products to those who could never afford a new instrument, especially younger folks who have such desire to learn. If your quality standards expect equal what would come out of a Martin, Taylor, or Gibson shop, then I suggest you look elsewhere. If your quality standards allow instruments set up at or above original specs, repaired to provide stable enduring playability, sound that equals or surpasses the original instruments specs, and at the same time understand reclaimed instruments can be less than cosmetically perfect, then you understand as I do what a reclaimed instrument should be. Please remember I reclaim, I do not restore. They are two different endeavors entirely. My depictions and descriptions of this instrument are as accurate as I can make them. Returns accepted only if this offering is misrepresented in the previous description. The pictures show as best they can any cosmetic discrepancies. Otherwise, this instrument is once again ready to be played and make music.

To the 98.9% of the honest, interested, intelligent and paying Ebayer’s out there, I say thanks and blessings.
